Dr. Jane S. Redmond is the immediate past Director of Minority Student Affairs, and the Black Cultural Center, and presently serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Since assuming directorship in 1982, Minority Student Affairs and the Black Cultural Center have experienced tremendous growth and exposure on the UT campus and in the local community. Dr. Redmond is the epitome of student advocacy and works tirelessly on behalf of students and their concerns. She is very active in the local community, and serves on several committees, boards, and organizations.
She is sought after for her administrative and organizational expertise, her knowledge of African American students in higher education, and her understanding and appreciation for multicultural-diversity issues. Dr. Redmond is regarded for her hard work, sensitivity to people and regard for equity and fairness. Dr. Jane S. Redmond is a vital member of The University of Tennessee and the Greater Knoxville community.
